Zionsville council to discuss $4.5M sewer project tonight
ZIONSVILLE — The Zionsville Town Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at Town Hall.
Councilors will discuss bonds for the Zionsville Road sewer project and new board appointees, according to the meeting agenda.
The estimated $4.5-million Zionsville Road sewer project has long been in the works and will provide a new sanitary sewer line from Ind. 334 to near I-865 along Zionsville Road and beyond, as well as a pressure line along the old 106th Street from Zionsville Road to Bennett Parkway. The town is eligible for about $1.5 million in stimulus funds, with much of the remaining funds coming from 30-year bonds.
The council passed an ordinance nearly last month ending the terms of members of nearly all town boards at the end of the year. Members of the Park and Recreation Board, the Plan Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals and several other boards are to resign their seats effective Dec. 31.
With the town of Zionsville merging with nearby Eagle and Union townships in January, the move was made to ensure equal representation for the newly incorporated areas, council President Matt Price said.
