Did you read Judy Blume or were you an Encyclopedia Brown kind of person? Remember when the Troll book orders came around and we brought in change from every conceivable location to get the next great paperback they were hawking? What were some of the faves?

My favorite book as a kid was Mutiny on the Bounty. I hated Captain Bligh and loved Fletcher Christian, just like I was supposed to. I was also filled with a deep desire to sail the open seas. Thankfully, that desire dissipated with age.

That is a good book, however, regarding your thankfulness that the desire to sail the open seas dissipated. Perhaps, you might try taking a cruise or buying a boat… you may still love the water idea, ever watch Love Boat.

I was a “Goosebumps” fan. I’m not sure I should admit to it, but there it is.

I loved reading the Hardy Boy and Nancy Drew series. I watch little television but when I do, I enjoy shows like CSI and Without A Trace; I imagine these books may have influenced me more than I realized :) I still enjoy curling up with a good book and would recommend it to everyone. I’ve been reading the Vince Flynn series…very entertaining. The beat goes on!

I tried to read those as a kid, but they don’t hold up for me. I just can’t relate to the era they were written in.

I was a fan of Alfred Hitchcock and the Three Investigators. I remember Jupiter Jones was one of them, but for some reason I’m drawing a blank on the others. I think I read six or seven of their books.

Realistically, my favorite books were all comic books… mostly Spider-man and X-men.

I enjoyed the “My Teacher is an Alien” series by Bruce Coville and Gary Paulsen books like “Hatchet.” I also loved the pictures and stories in Shel Silverstein’s books like these:

Once middle school hit, I was all about the comic books.
