Waking Up Weird
I fell asleep on the couch last night, because I was desperate to watch all of an awesome History Channel documentary on gangsters of the 30s. I awakened with one leg on the floor, the other leg with knee bent-up and askew on the couch, one arm dangling off the side and one arm curled up under my shirt (doubtless fondling myself), my glasses fallen off on my chest, and my hat covering half my face. I didn’t make it to the end of the documentary. Stupid History Channel.
This caused me to recall other strange awakenings I’ve had, most (er, all) of which involved alcohol. I once woke up in a room covered with splotches of blood and shards of glass. It looked like I’d had a sleepover with Jack the Ripper. But I slowly remembered that I’d stumbled and fallen through my glass coffee table, sliced my hand open and then spent a prolonged period staggering around the room, spreading blood liberally as I looked for something to dress the wound in. Alcohol giveth, and she taketh away.
So, does anyone else have stories of waking up in odd places or situations? I sure hope so.

As long as it wasn’t his drinking arm . . .
