New Carlisle -- State Police say two Marines were among four people killed when their car crossed the median on an icy Indiana Toll Road and was struck by a semitrailer truck.

Police said there was snow and ice on the road when the car crossed from the eastbound into the westbound lanes and crashed about 8:15 p.m. Sunday on the Toll Road near New Carlisle, about 10 miles west of South Bend.

Police said they have confirmed that two of the victims were Marines: Kyle Sporleder, 20, Sylvania, Ohio; and Rodney M. Echelbarger, Holland, Ohio, whose age was not available.

Other victims were identified as Aaron F. Esposito, 23, Novi, Mich.; and Lauren Diefenthaler, 19, Ypsilanti, Mich.
