Close but No Cigars Please
If you haven’t had Chris at Olive’s Martini and Cigar bar make you a martini yet, you haven’t lived. Ok, that’s an exaggeration but point is martinis are great, Chris is great, but cigars are not. I understand that Olive’s is a martini AND cigar bar but its 2009, are cigars really still en vogue?
Generally, most people who smoke cigars don’t inhale. You don’t get high off of them, they don’t look cool, and they smell horrible. I’m missing the appeal here. According to the American Cancer Society’s website, one cigar can contain as much tobacco as an entire pack of cigarettes. That’s disgusting.
Olive’s really is a great spot. Anytime I’m looking for a friendly, relaxed place to sip on a cocktail, Olive’s is it. I always enjoy my time there but I desperately wish it was non-smoking. I feel like I’ve just smoked a pack of cigarettes every time I walk out of the bar. Nicky Blaine’s, Blu and 6 are also among other places I frequent that sell cigars as well and I really wish they wouldn’t. Second hand cigarette smoke is bad enough but I really draw the line at cigars. I’m all for the statewide smoking ban. Indiana, please jump on board. I’d like to enjoy my martini without a cigar, especially someone else’s.
