Nat-stradamus — aka Star reporter Nat Newell — turned in another strong week at 33-8, improving to 127-33 for the season. Only the Western Boone, Shelbyville, Monrovia, Indian Creek, Fishers and Brebeuf Jesuit high school football teams have better winning percentages. Here is a look at some of the top games in the area this weekend. For more predictions involving area teams, go to Blogs.IndyStar.com/Preps. All games are at 7 p.m. Friday:

Carmel 21, Lawrence North 7

Lawrence North’s defense is more than capable of giving host Carmel’s offense trouble, so don’t rule out an upset. However, I don’t think the Wildcats’ offense will be able to consistently move the ball. If Lawrence North can score off two big plays, look out, but don’t count on it.

Park Tudor 24, Lutheran 14

Lutheran is 3-1 but ranks behind 1-3 Scecina in the Sagarin ratings because of a schedule ranked 275th in the state. The Saints had the closer loss to Beech Grove, but host Park Tudor looks like it’s putting everything together as it enters a brutal final month of the regular season.

Warren Central 35, North Central 14

North Central has taken a huge stride forward following last season’s 1-9 performance, but it will have to find a way to move the ball beyond its power running game to compete in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference. An early lead by the visiting Panthers wouldn’t surprise me, but Warren Central will wear them down by the end.

Speedway 31, Monrovia 21

Finally. After a month of exhibitions, Monrovia is going to play in an actual game. How weak has the Bulldogs’ schedule been? It’s ranked 17th in Class 2A by the Sagarin ratings despite outscoring its opponents 201-0. Last week, Speedway faced far and away its toughest opponent in Cardinal Ritter and the result was a 57-29 loss. Now it’s host Monrovia’s turn.

Cathedral 38, Arlington 7

The Arlington-Broad Ripple game in two weeks is looking like a great clash and the Golden Knights could give Anderson Highland a challenge come sectional time, but they’ll be overmatched against Cathedral. These teams share Arlington’s field, so who gets the home-field advantage?

Zionsville 21, Westfield 6

Zionsville’s offense got a wake-up call against Hamilton Southeastern last week. It looked like Westfield might quickly fade after a 2-0 start, but it rebounded to make its game with Brownsburg respectable despite the loss. The host Shamrocks aren’t going away, but Zionsville is the better team.
