At long last, the My Little Pony auction is happening! Here are some of our shining examples of poniness, decked out and donated by Indy.com users.

The event is May 1 at Locals Only, 2449 E. 56th St. (317) 255-4013.

Doors open at 8 p.m., with a $5 cover; mint juleps will be served in honor of the Kentucky Derby. Show up with a customized pony and we’ll find a space for her. Or just come with money to bid on a pony — bids start at $10. Proceeds from the pony auction benefit the Feral Bureau of Indiana, a program that traps, neuters and releases feral cats in the Indianapolis area.

Co-sponsors are Sunday Afternoon Housewife and Transpanther Booking. Along with mint juleps and a pony performance, there will be music from Elsinore, Kentucky Nightmare and Secondary Modern.

Glad this was finally able to happen. I love the Egyptian and mohawk ponies. How fun.
