Definitely one of my favorite places to visit during the summer time. While I mostly go for the beer selection, the food is pretty good too.

Great beer and fantastic outside seating area in the warm season. Sufficient vegetarian options too.

Good veggie burger ya’ll.

I like the brewpub. They have good vegetarian entrees and a good beer selection. And it’s not obnoxious like too much of Broad Ripple.

I walked in and it makes me think of an Irish pub. I love the feel of the place, the staff is very kind and friendly. Love to hag here.

We’ve got to give them kudos for offering so many vegetarian options. That shows the have at least slightly elevated the bar food genre. We had perfectly fine service early on a Friday evening. Fine dining? No. However, this is a good spot for a mix of carnivores and vegans.

They have alot of choices for beer, im not an IPA type of guy, but they have lots of good ales, stouts and porters. The food is good, but it is a brew pub, not a food place, and its got a nice cozy atmosphere inside.

But the food, not so much. Basically, as been stated before, go for nachos, hummus platter or salads. The hummus platter was enough for two meals for me, so it was worth the money. NEVER buy the pretzels and cheese crock. I think the pretzels are the ones you buy frozen at the super market? The Super Pretzels? Anyway, the beer is great though. I usually go for the Lawn Mower Pale Ale or Farmers Ale. The atmosphere is nice though, dark and cozy and a lot of great nook and crannies.

I have yet to sample a beer I didn’t like. I can’t say as much for the food, only because I haven’t tried the food yet. Cozy atmosphere and distinctly English decor make this a Broadripple icon.

OK…I brew beer, I drink beer. I also cook and love to eat. I just go here to drink, and if I do eat…pub nachos, pub ploughmans platter…basically nothing else if I don’t feel like bitching about it later. Quick lunch…try an hour and a half…pizza…how bout some

burnt cheese on crust. The food here used to be so much better, but has really gone down"Hill" over the psat 4 years or so. I keep trying to get good food here, but really gave up. Beer however…Kevin does an awesome job as the brewmaster here, kudaos to him for always providing the tasty hop and malt infused beverages. Cheers.

Come on John get your kitchen together already!

The beer is excellent but the food often leaves something to be desired. I would recommend the black bean burger or a salad if you’re hungry, they tend to be consistently ok.

The hummus plate and beer cheese bread appetizer are usually safe as well.

It is a great place to put back a couple of beers, afterall it is a BREW pub. They have a seperate area to throw darts. Super cool.

I’ve eaten had dinner the broad ripple brewpub four times. Twice I left hungry, because my dinner was inedible (and I’m not a picky eater). The Salmon wrap was the worst of all. It was essentially a bland CAN of salmon in a wrap. It made my stomach turn. The other terrible meal I had was the peanut sesame chicken pasta. It was pretty tasty, but so hot that I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. The veggie burger was pretty good.

If it was up to me, I’d never eat there again, but my fiancee loves this place for some strange reason. The beer is pretty good, and it’s pretty nice to sit outside, but overall the food is hideous.

After living in Broad Ripple for the past 6 years and a long time patron of all the locally owned establishments here. I have always enjoyed a pint of lawnmower in the summer accompanied by the Bison Burger. The 12 Alarm Tuna is always tasty and fresh as well…

The service is hit or miss. It seems to miss whenever the place is not so busy, which confuses me. The ploughmans platter is typically filling and prepared with fresh ingredients. Though the last time I went in the cheese cubes were turning color and getting hard, the pita bread was hard and chewy and the peppers were not fresh.

The name says it all. Go for the beer. I mean, it is what it is people.

However, the burgers are pretty good too. If you want fancy food, go to Peterson’s. If you want a good brew, then this is your place.

This place is just ok. With typical bar food. For the most part it is ok with a few “Really good things” and a few “Yuck” things. It just is ok.

As a vegetarian, the BRBP is a great place to eat. I have never had bad food there before (of course I have never had the pizza… and now probably never will). I love the spinach melt and the veg sloppy joes. I have also had the baked fallafel (sp??) and it was a bit dry for my taste, but I’m pretty picky about that dish anyway. I took my whole family there once and they all really liked it (all meat eaters and all kind of picky). The only thing I have ever had issues with was the service. And of course I love the beer! :)

I was at the Brewpub this past weekend…
I enjoyed the Black Lager (first time sampling that there) and a nice Monon Porter from the beer engine. Yum!

Needed a bite and ordered the hot pretzel with a small cheese crock. The cheese is damn good and I can’t really fault the pretzels…
but $5 for 2 pretzels as big as the palm of my hand and a little thing of cheese = ripoff supreme. Throw me a bone and toss a couple more ’zels in for that steep of a fee. $9 for some bread & cheese? come on now, son.

Cheers
T

maybe it was an April Fools thing, but I’m going to ruin the fun and point out that the photos posted above were not taken in the Pub. Coors Lite posters? Cap’n Morgan table? The brewpub serves neither.

After entering the quaint restaurant, I really liked the atmosphere. Staff was friendly and we were seated promptly. However, my first minute in the restaurant was by far the best.

As I sat back to lean against the booth, I quickly noticed an uncomfortable wood trimming that sticks out and goes all the way down the booth – it’s the kind of booth that goes all the way down the room and the opposite side sits in chairs. With this wood protrusion digging into my back, I decided to lean forward and put my arms on the table for comfort. I was again disappointed when I realized the table had not been effectively cleaned and I had put my shirtsleeve right in some mystery sticky substance. I decided to forget about it and just enjoy the atmosphere.

I ordered a pizza and one of their brews. Wow, the beer was amazing and I was looking forward to the food being crafted as carefully as their microbrews. However, this is where the real disappointment begins. I can honestly say I have had better frozen pizza. At $10.25 for a 10" pizza, I was expecting more than for someone to take a cheap frozen pizza, sprinkle a couple of vegetables on it, and then serve it to me. I can overlook some creature comforts, but I was insulted that they don’t think I will realize I just ate a frozen pizza. I mean seriously, I just graduated from college and got done living off of the stuff.

So I left, disappointed but thinking I would give them another try by first asking the waitress next time what people really like there. I mean I wanted to like this cool little brewpub in Broad Ripple, but I’m not going to pay double for frozen pizza. Unfortunately, people don’t visit for the pizza or the two other entrĂ©es my friends had (more frozen flavor). Maybe there was something that is actually pretty good on the menu and I planned to find out next time.

We decided to see what was going on at the bars and I realized my stomach was not feeling up for even finishing my second beer of the night. Bummer, but I didn’t feel like pushing it, so I called it and headed home. Unfortunately, my night was not close to being over, as I then spent the rest of the evening and night with a bad case of food poisoning. This is what really clinched it for me; I will never again dine at the Broad Ripple Brewpub. I may consider having a drink with friends, and you should too because their beer is phenomenal, but in short, I do not recommend the pizza.
