Four of us had dinner at Capri last Saturday evening. We had a table in
the bar room, which is our preferred place to dine there. Our service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive without being obtrusive.
Our drinks were just what we asked for and they were served nicely.
I enjoyed the very good hot rolls while I sipped my drink. Boy, those
rolls are great!
We each had salad, an entree and a dessert. Three of us had pasta dishes and one had red snapper. All entrees were very nice.
We enjoyed our evening dining at Capri, and especially liked the live guitar playing that accompanied our dining. The music was very nice and just the right volume. Many restaurants today have music which is much too loud for a dinner conversation.
All four of us have been to Capri many times and will certainly go back
soon.

i’m not calling anyone a liar but the worst part about online reviews is that you can’t see the people praising or trashing a reviewed restaurant. emill will have us believe that the 60+ year old asian hostess or the 60+ year old Italian owner (who are two of the nicest people in the world) flat-out told him to get the f out. that may be true though i find it hard to believe.
Capri is hands down the best Italian restaurant i have personally been to in this city. the Chicken Lasagna is the absolute greatest. everything i’ve ever had on the menu has been terrific. and i can’t stand live music in restaurants but the guy who sits in the back corner and plays the guitar is awesome! i have no affiliation to this place and don’t even know the names of the people who own/run/work there but my unbiased opinion is that the place is stellar!

I don’t know if I’d say worst but my experience was definitely sub-par. My Cuba Libre arrived with one slice of lime and way too much ice. The anti pasti plate of cheese and salami – had 8 pieces of cubed aged salami and three pieces of cheese. Some marinated mushrooms and some tasteless olives. $9.
The gnocchi was uninspired. The server was nice. An older man (the owner or GM?) took us to our seats – a table for two in the corner inspite of there being only three other people there.
Will I return? Given the overall experience being lack lustre. Probably not.

The Capri was probably one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever experienced in my life. I can’t rate the food, but I can rate the service for the person running the host station. My wife and I decided to dine due to the suggestion of another person. Upon our arrival, there were many empty seats, an empty bar room and open seats at the bar. The host preceded to skip over us for other people that walked into the restaurant after us. When I stepped forward and asked him about seating, his response was, “No, no seating.” I said can I be put on the waiting list. His response, “No.” I asked if I could sit in the bar. His response, “No, you need to go somewhere else.” Overall, he was a very rude man and I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone. I did email the management from the website and received the same responses. They may value long time customers, but they sure don’t do anything to get new customers. I would avoid at all times.

Recently dined @ Capri for a business lunch. Loved the crusty warm bread. The lentil soup was also delicious. I had the gnocchi with tomato cream sauce. It was terrific! The gnocchi melted in your mouth. The other 2 in my group were equally satisfied with their selections. The only downside was our service was a bit slow that day – and they were not busy. All in all, a great spot for anything from a business lunch to a romantic dinner. I will return!
