After the KIST concert at the Monkey, the band stuck around after closing and we all went to the Red Eye, mind you this was like 5am…. Anyways the food was huge and very inexpensive even for the location. I really liked it and it is now my sober station on my way home. Of course I’ll be back, im even bringing my friends!

So, I may be partial to Red Eye because I live 2 blocks away.
Maybe its the cute girl with the dreads that works there, but
I love it.

Ok, maybe I love getting my hashbrowns and eggs there every Sunday Morning!

I went there at 10:30 am today, was told to sit anywhere. The waitress brought me a cup of coffee, said she would be back in a minute to take my order. I perused the menu, breakfast stuff and burgers. For $9 for a burger and fries, you would think they would be falling all over themselves to make a sale. The waitress, in her 40’s I would imagine, chatted with the fellow servers, visited with already dining patrons and ignored me. Keep in mind, I was visible to her the entire time. I nursed my coffee slowly, once the cup was drained, I started looking at my watch. 7 minutes passed since that time. I was easily sitting there 25 minutes. The restaurant was not crowded.

The waitress finally decided to lower herself to take my order. I told her I just wanted to pay for my coffee and go. She apologized profusely and told me she just got caught up chatting. You would think at this point, as a customer service issue, she would have comped the coffee, but she took the $2 for the drink, and I left.

There was nothing compelling enough on the menu for me to come back for a second attempt.

Jammy’s review was agreeable…with the lack of one of Red Eye’s best features – people watching, particularly on a late Friday or Saturday night. With views of the sidewalks surrounding some of downtown Indianapolis busiest clubs, you are sure to be entertained by the people watching. But the food is good, too….

If you grabbed a place like Peppy’s and put a bunch of money into it, used better ingredients, and actually got a nice location, you’d have the Red Eye.

It’s essentially a 24 hour dinner with good food, some of the best 24 hour available. Only problem is you pay for it, items are generally a hair pricier than other places probably to help make up for all those slow hours in a 24 hour period.

The Chili is damn good and the Red Eye Burger is a fine piece of burger making. Very tasty. Their appetizers are also a nice snack when you’re playing some of the board games they keep along the window sill to entertain you in the wee hours of the night. The desserts come and go but if they have what you’re looking for they are generally good.

It’s a popular haunt for geeks needing wifi and officers downtown needing a place to rest and eat.

I want a quesadilla now.

Who's giving Brad's a bad review?? It's the only place to go in Indy. It's cheap and there are usually at least a few hot girls.
