Oh Yumm! Bistro (5615 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)
    3

Had lunch here for my birthday with my cousin and mom. My cousin suggested it and I’m glad she did. It was definitely quaint but the food was amazing. I can’t remember what my salad was called but it had some weird sounding salad dressing on it. Something to do with bark? Anyway, it rocked! Very flavorful. They have a nice wine selection also.

Flying Cupcake Bakery (5617 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)

The girls that work there were as sweet as the goods. Everything was sooooo tasty. I had a little cheesecake number that was to die for. It was my birthday so they put a candle on it, bless their hearts! Little bit o’ milk and I was good to go! Yummy!

Giorgio's Pizza (9 E. Market St., Indianapolis, IN)

Damn, I want some right now! Wish they delivered to the west side. Whenever we work the downtown comic book store we stop in for pizza and breadsticks. And it’s just not often enough! sigh

You have food coming out of your eyeballs when you leave. Yikes!!! The drink with all the limes in it is deadly! My gosh, there is so much food, it’s crazy! The salad bar is insane, then they bring you several side dishes, and the endless amounts of meat is surely going to give you some kind of ailment later in life. There was meat swarming around my head like bees. You didn’t even need to flip that card to green! If you saw something you liked, they saw you drooling over it and offered you some. It was my birthday so I received a free dessert that was AMAZING, wow! And they wrote Happy Birthday on they plate. Sweet! My only complaint about the place was that it felt really cramped. There was a lot of open space off to one side and I felt like they could’ve spread the tables out a little bit and made it a little more intimate. I don’t like having dinner with strangers. And then you had all those guys trying to squeeze between all the tables trying to serve you all night. It just felt a little uncomfortable to me.

Queso Blanco (102 S. Union St., Westfield, IN)

The waitstaff was excellent! Everyone made sure you had what you needed. You felt like you were being waited on by everyone that worked there. The chips and salsa were very tasty and we ordered the cheese dip to go with them and it was perfect! My chicken chimichanga was fried to perfection. I love it when it’s extra crispy on the ends. Everything was very flavorful, lots of color and great presentation. One thing we noticed is that they do not serve alcohol. No margaritas with your mexican here folks!

Noodles & Company (903 Indiana Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
    3

We stopped here for a quick meal before an Indians game one time and well….it was quick. Can’t say that it was memorable. I had potstickers and they were bland. My husband had mac n cheese and it was so so. Maybe I should’ve ordered something that had spices in it. I would try it again to give it another chance but the first impression wasn’t a great one.

Starbucks Coffee (430 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
    1

I stop here almost every time I’m visiting the Mass Ave. area. It’s usually a triple play of Silver in the City, Three Dogs Bakery, then Starbucks. Everyone is always very friendly, quick to serve, and makes your Starbuck’s experience a great one. Mocha Frappucino yum! I could go for one right now!

Ted's Montana Grill (14490 Clay Terrace Blvd., Carmel, IN)
    2

We’ve eaten here several times for lunch after a long day of shopping. I could eat a lot more of those cucumbers they give you. Salty goodness, yum. We love the western decor and the look of the bar. You almost feel like Ted has brought you to Montana. I’ve tried both the buffalo and the beef and they are excellent. The chicken is very tasty also. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like yet. Don’t forget the cookies, they make them fresh! The bathrooms remind me of elementary school, but I like it for some weird reason. Maybe it makes me feel like a kid again? I would like some of that Borax soap for after a hard days work in the garden. Get’s all the grit off ya! Yeeehaa!

Stone Creek Dining Company (Metropolis) (2498 Futura Parkway, Suite 105, Plainfield, IN)
    1

I love the whole mini-chain of restaurants: Stone Creek, Boulder Creek, and Charbonos. The Metropolis location is the funkiest of them all, mixing their traditional natural stone, rock, and wood with metal art and wild light fixtures. But the food is excellent as always.
    My menu favorites include:

    Applewood Chicken Salad
Field greens, applewood smoked bacon, grilled chicken, egg, spiced pecans, bleu cheese and cranberry poppyseed dressing.
    $11.99

    Smothered Chicken
Grilled chicken breast topped with bacon, mushrooms,
scallions, honey mustard, cheddar and mozzarella.
Served wtih baked potato and chef’s vegetables.
    $13.99

    Blackened Mahi Mahi
Char-grilled and served atop Cajun dirty rice, finished with
black bean cucumber salsa, cilantro aioli and fresh avocado.
    $17.99

    Roasted Chicken Linguini
    With bacon, mushrooms and scallions.
Tossed with our five peppercorn alfredo.
    $12.99

    BLTA
Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado,
    alfalfa sprouts and chipotle aioli.
    $9.49

    Now I’m hungry, grrrr.

Claddagh Irish Pub (234 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)
    10

It was our first trip to a Claddagh ever. We certainly picked the wrong thing off the menu because we didn’t go back for a long time. It took my sister to get me to go back and try something different. I believe I had the Sheppard’s Pie and I just didn’t care for it. I also didn’t care for the stools with no backs instead of chairs. I went with my sister to the Plainfield location and they had chairs so I was much happier there. But the atmosphere was different from any place I had been so that made it fun. I know what to order now if anyone wants to go back. The Five Points Turkey Club is excellent. The Monte Cristo is good if you like sweet stuff for your meal. My sister’s favorite is the Balsamic Chicken, I have yet to try it, but I’ll take her word, she’s picky. The Cheddar Ale Sauce is good to dip your stuff in too.

Yats (659 Massachusetts Ave., Indianapolis, IN)
    24

I wish it was closer. I would go there allllllll the time. I’m constantly trying to talk people into going but everyone wants to go somewhere else. Picky people!!! Yats is god! Don’t they know this?

    Shapiro's (808 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)

I couldn’t believe how much they were charging the last time I went. My mom wanted to go there for lunch and I think it ended up costing the two of us over $50. That’s madness!!!!

Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery (10 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN)

You took away our favorite sandwich. We loved the Monte Cristo and they did away with it. You bastards! But other than that, we love this place. Good location, fun atmosphere, good prices.

Rathskeller (401 E. Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN)
    10

You can beat hanging out with friends, having some food and drinks, listening to good music, sitting outside, looking at a view of downtown….ahhhhh it doesn’t get much better. Oh wait, the chicken cordon bleu fingers….they are to die for!!!!

The place is pretty pricey so don’t go here if you are on a budget.

Ram Restaurant and Brewery (140 S. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN)
    8

The wait staff is very nice. I love all the food choices and the food is always good. There are plenty of different drink choices. Huge list of martinis to a huge list of beers. Fun atmosphere! Little loud when it’s busy.

Jillian's Hibachi Grill (141 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN)
    3

If you are expecting a Japanese steakhouse then you are wrong. The food is bland and boring. So is the chef. They are very slow. We were the only group in the place and they were very unprepared and they knew we were coming. It was awful.

Ike & Jonesy's (17 Jackson Pl., Indianapolis, IN)
    5

We love their pinball tables and wish we had one. The food isn’t anything fancy but if you just want a BLT or a burger, then you are good to go!

Recently went there with some girlfriends for some drinks and dancing and it was a blast. The dance floor was so packed you couldn’t move and at one point you couldn’t even get on it. It was a wall of people! The waitress said she had never seen it so busy before. There were a lot of events going on downtown that weekend so that might have been the issue.

Buca di Beppo (35 N. Illinois St, Indianapolis, IN)
    11

I’ve been to all three locations and I haven’t been impressed with any of the food. But I’ve enjoyed the atmosphere at all three, even though they are pretty much the same. The staff seemed very pleasant. The gelato is tasty!

Auntie Anne's (49 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN)

If their pretzels sucked this place would’ve closed a long time ago because of the service. I know they get paid crap but good grief…say hi! Would it kill you to be polite?

Alcatraz Brewing Company (49 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis, IN)

The food wasn’t that great. It was too pricey. And the atmosphere pretty much sucked. I’d rather go to the Ram.
